- Bake the cakes according to the instructions, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool completely before assembling.
- While the cakes are cooling, prepare the sugar skull molds. If you prefer to use white chocolate, melt the white chocolate melts according to the instructions on the packaging. be sure to melt your chocolate in 15 second intervals to prevent burning.
- Once nice and smooth using the silicone funnel that came with the molds. Pour the melted white chocolate into the skull molds bang on counter to prevent bubbles, and let them set until firm.
- Once the cakes have cooled, carefully remove them from the pans. Place one cake layer on a serving plate or cake stand.
- Spread a layer of cream cheese frosting on top of the first cake layer. Place the second cake layer on top and press gently to secure it in place.
- Use a toothpick or skewer to poke a few holes in the top of the cake, near the center. This will allow the edible blood to seep into the cake for a bleeding effect.

- once firm apply your smooth finished coat of frosting.
- Slowly pour the edible blood over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides. You can use a spoon or a piping bag to control the flow of the blood.
- Once the bleeding effect is achieved, place the white chocolate skulls on top of the cake, strategically positioning them to create a visually appealing arrangement.
- using a little bit more melted white chocolate as glue to hold them together if stacking them on top of one another like our inspo photo!
- Use more of the edible blood to pipe into the eyes of our skulls to achieve that bleeding effect
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 30 minutes to allow the frosting and edible blood to set.
