I pretty much feel like I have hit the jackpot on the Last two Adventures Of Thrift I have went on. I have this mission to fill my home with trinkets & odd neat little objects. I feel like the Little Mermaid “You want thingamabobs…..I got 20, But who caressss… nooooo big deeeaaal. IIII want MOOOOOOORRREEE”
Soooo where do I begin! This Next Object I couldn’t fit on the table BUT I LoVe!!!!
It’s this kinda sorta heavy metal filigree type of iron, coppery, sculpture decor thing lol,, BEST way I can describe it, It has this pretty copper tone to it.
I was going to put this Inside the house……. I Spluurrrged a little and spent about $5.99 on this!!!
BUT since I just painted my house and it’s in need of some cool decor to dress it in… I think this will go just right on-top of the glass sliding doors out front, above and in the middle. Hard to Imagine but I will be posting my new house update in an upcoming “Making Our House A Home” post!!!
The frames you see are going to be in the next installation of the Living Room part of the series, I have a big wall in need of some jewelry, in the form of these different sized and different textured frames.
For Only about $1.00-$2.00 each for the big ones. The smaller ones were .25 cents each for the 4!!!
Hey you can’t beat that!!!
I just want to fill them with random things, I am going to put a page to a favorite book of mine in one, that I will tea stain to make it look old. I will put some drawings in a couple. Newspaper clippings as well. I am looking forward to see how it all compliments one another.
I think with the frames I will also have a few quirky mirrors in the mix. That wasn’t in the original plan BUT I found these GORG mirrors that just needed to live in my home!!!!
This Sun one is actually hand-made out of wood. For only a DOLLAR!!!
It is So textured and carved up. Painted gold with not only the circular mirror in the middle . But also has five slivers of mirrors around it that I think is truly neat.
The one next to it Is a circular mirror as well, it is slightly bigger and actually made out of a plaster, so it has some weight to it, its chipped in a few places so I might re-paint it, But I think I kind of like it that way too, Its also decorated with a fancy little design on the top…..or it could be the bottom. lol
Heres a view of the second mirror, But also those neat little wooden trinkets… The circular one is an artichoke like sculpture it was $1.50. I really LoVe the one on the right. That one was only .99 cents.
These kind of look more upscale and decorative. I know some people decorate their whole home with just those type of little sculptures. Like their home was cookie cut from some high-end mahogany magazine , Hey if that floats your boat. But that’s one of the reasons I love thrifting, is you find different things that you mix together to fit your own style.
I personally just want things that are kind earthy, calming and relaxing. But also things that intrigue me.
One Of my FaV Favorites!! Is…………Drummmm rollll Pleeeaaasssee….
I’m like NuTz about this one…. SO much Soo I sent this pic to Chad & friends immediately debating ideas!!!
For $4’s I almost had to fight someone for it……. And I WOULD have!!!!! Just sayin..
Soo I might keep it like this. It is painted gold so it will match my other thrifted treasure finds, It’s so crazy because I truly have never had gold type of decor and lately that s majority of what I have picked out. I think it will goo great with the browns and greens.
What I am going to do today is take some sand paper and sand a little swatch off the back to see what kind of wood it is..
If it has a cool grain to it, I will DEFINATELY DEFINATELY be stripping this whole thing… maybe slap some stain on there. But I will just BE SOOOO EXCITED if this is a cool grained wood. Because I would much much rather it be just an old looked wooden piece,…
So cross your finger for me……and toes please
This is another kind of dried wooded framed mirror . $2.50 cause it was half off!!!! and thennnnn I found this XXL dress. I LOVE the fabric!!! I like to find fabric from thrifts because to buy a yard of a different not so common print is rather expensive…. Then if you want it an even more beautiful fabric material then the norm ass more $$ to that!!!! SOOO much better to find a print you like for $2.50 at the thrift like this!!
It’s a navy blue with orangey red seahorses on it and it is this gorgeous satin sold silky fabric and I am going to cut the heck out of it and create some pillows from it!!!!! Maybe a valance or whatever you call that small type of curtain.
DIY Soon to be post!!!!
Sooooo I am Going to work on filling those little gems (frames) with some different things and sand that wooden sculpture….. maybe hang some stufff
Till Next Time
